Hypothermia Lamp Needed

There are on average 10-15 births each month at the Centre the Sante de Kaptchie ( CSK) in Batoufam.
Although the birth can go well, there have been report of few babies brought back to the CSK suffering with hypothermia. Currently the CSK use a normal light bulb and regular human contact to help manage the hypothermia.
However, having the adequate resources to address that need will tremendously help the CSK.

There are several risks associated with the current way of managing the hypothermia:
-the baby eyes are in direct contact with the light
-There is a risk of the light bulb smashing , putting the baby and the staff at risk
-There is a the risk of accident , as the baby is constantly turn over by the staff member while lying on a table.

We are aware of the significant consequences of hypothermia on the newborn babies. Its severity depend on the stage and the duration:
-Lethargy
-Poor response
-Hypoglyciamia
-Metabolic acidosis
-Risk of infection
-High risk of death

Stages and Severity of hypothermia:
.Stress froid: 36.0 – 36.4˚C attention
.Hypothermie modérée: 33 – 35.9˚C danger
.Hypothermie sévère: < 32,9˚C conséquences graves

We should come together to raise fund to buy 1-2 overhead heaters. We could also buy a heated mattress to address the same problem.

The picture attached shows a child diagnosed with hypothermia. This is how children diagnosed with hypothermia are currently being treated. It is dangerous for staff but also for the baby.
Kaptchiè health center is in desperate need of a heated lamp ( electric) to safety manage such cases.
Many thanks for your help.
